The Office of the President for Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI) has presented its revenue estimates for the 2025/26 fiscal year to Parliament, amounting to approximately 11.783 trillion Shillings for the ministries and institutions under its jurisdiction.
This budget has increased from the 10.125 trillion Shillings allocated for the 2024/25 fiscal year, reflecting a rise of over 1.66 trillion Shillings.
While presenting the revenue and expenditure estimates, the Minister of State in the Office of the President-TAMISEMI, Mohamed Mchengerwa, stated that 3.95 trillion Shillings is requested for Development Projects. Of this amount, 2.5 trillion Shillings will come from domestic sources, which includes 613.44 billion Shillings from local council revenues, while 1.45 trillion Shillings will be sourced externally.
He also mentioned that 7.84 trillion Shillings is allocated for regular expenditures, which includes 6.3 trillion Shillings for salaries and 1.53 trillion Shillings for other expenses, including 1.067 trillion Shillings from local council revenues.
"We have not only presented revenue and expenditure estimates but also laid out a vision of hope, a roadmap for development, and a commitment to responsible leadership. TAMISEMI is not seeking political accolades; we are focused on finding the right solutions for the everyday Tanzanian"
Additionally, Mchengerwa urged regions, local government authorities, and all citizens to collaborate and move forward in unity.
"With this intention and a strong belief in the vision of Honorable Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, we present this budget as a tool for work, a vision of hope, and a means for administrative, economic, and social transformation."
"Therefore, we confidently assert that TAMISEMI is the foundation of sustainable development. Every Shilling has a role, every leader has a responsibility, and every citizen has a place", he said.
