The Secretary of the " CCM National Executive Committee " for Political Affairs and International Relations, Dr. Rabia Abdallah Hamid, has emphasized the undeniable leadership capabilities of women.
Speaking on April 26, 2025, during a discussion on gender equality at the international meeting of the Socialist Parties for Development (PA) in Hyderabad, India, he highlighted the commendable leadership of Tanzania's President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Dr. Rabia received enthusiastic applause when he noted that Dr. Hassan's governance has earned her numerous accolades, including an honorary doctorate from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in India, recognizing her contributions to societal development.
He further mentioned that other international institutions, such as the Korea Aerospace University and Ankara University in Turkey, have also honored her with similar distinctions.
Among the international awards Dr. Hassan has received , is the Gates Goalkeeper Award, acknowledging her significant impact on health, which has led to a reduction in maternal and infant mortality rates, presented by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation . Additionally, she has been recognized with the PanAfrican Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Champion Award for her efforts in ensuring access to clean and safe water for Tanzanians, as well as the Super Builder Babacar N'diaye Award from the African Development Bank for her leadership in infrastructure development, including roads, modern railways, and airports.
