President Trump is poised to impose travel restrictions on individuals from 43 nations from travelling to the US.

President Donald Trump

The Trump administration is reportedly contemplating extensive travel restrictions affecting citizens from 43 countries as part of a new immigration ban, a continuation of the crackdown initiated at the beginning of his second term in January.

According to a report by The New York Times , an internal memo categorizes these nations into three distinct groups. The first, labeled the 'red list,' consists of 11 countries—Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen—whose citizens would face a complete travel ban to the United States.

The second group, known as the 'orange list,' includes 10 countries where travel would be limited but not entirely prohibited; affluent business travelers from these nations, which include Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan, could still enter the U.S., while those on immigrant or tourist visas would be denied entry.

The largest category, the 'yellow list,' encompasses 22 countries that would have a 60-day period to address identified deficiencies, with the possibility of being reclassified if they fail to comply. This group includes Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.

A U.S. official, speaking anonymously, indicated that the list may undergo changes and has yet to receive final approval from the Trump administration.
