The Executive Director of Mbeya Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Godlove Mbwanji, expressed gratitude and commendation to the members of the Hospital Women’s Association for their ongoing contributions of donations and gifts aimed at enhancing healthcare services, particularly for children in the southern highlands.
Dr. Godlove conveyed these thanks while receiving five modern "neonatal resuscitation machines " valued at 62.5 million shillings, intended to improve the hospital's capacity to care for newborns facing various challenges in life-saving situations.
He emphasized the significance of the association's contributions, acknowledging that their voluntary efforts extend beyond mere service, as they have chosen to invest personally in the welfare of children in the region, thereby supporting the government's substantial initiatives in the healthcare sector.
Additionally, the Director of Administration and Collaborative Services at the hospital, Ms. Miriam Msalale, noted that the funds for the machines were raised through contributions from their allowances and support from other staff and stakeholders.
She highlighted that they successfully collected 62.5 million shillings to purchase the machines, reinforcing their commitment to supporting the efforts of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in advancing the healthcare sector through infrastructure and equipment improvements.
Also ,Joyce Komba, the Secretary of the Women’s Union at Mbeya Regional Referral Hospital, presented a report highlighting that the (MZRH ) Women Group currently has 671 members. Established officially in 2022, the group initially comprised 400 women. As of this year, there has been a significant increase of 271 members, reinforcing the group's commitment to addressing issues faced by newborns and pregnant women.
