French President Emmanuel Macron has emphasized the necessity for Russia to agree to a proposed 30-day ceasefire arrangement suggested by the United States and Ukraine.
On March 14, Macron engaged in discussions with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy regarding the ongoing situation.
In his evening address, Zelenskiy noted that he and Macron had explored the current "diplomatic landscape," potential opportunities, and the technical details involved in monitoring a ceasefire, affirming that France's support remains steadfast.
In a post on X, Macron reiterated the urgency of the situation, saying that following a recent meeting in Jeddah, it is imperative for Russia to accept the ceasefire proposal to halt its aggression and the associated atrocities in Ukraine.
He also mentioned an upcoming videoconference aimed at bolstering support for Ukraine and fostering a durable peace, which will include key leaders and partners.
