The Prime Minister of Tanzania Dr .Kassim Majaliwa has urged business communities across the country to maintain their 'confidence ' in President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, who is committed to addressing tax-related challenges.
He emphasized that the President is attentive to the issues faced by entrepreneurs, which is why she has established various teams to review the concerns of businesspeople, enabling them to operate freely.
Majaliwa reassured the public about President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan's dedication to addressing the fifteen proposals put forth by businesspeople following a meeting in Kariakoo, where a commission was formed to review Tanzania's tax system and is currently conducting nationwide consultations.
"He also commended the Commissioner of the ' Tanzania Revenue Authority ' for effectively overseeing revenue collection and taking action against officials who violate ethical standards. Furthermore, he urged the Commissioner to enhance educational programs for taxpayers to alleviate the challenges faced by businesses regarding tax matters. "
In a related development, Prime Minister, Dr . Majaliwa visited the Avo Afrika avocado processing plant in Njombe Region. While speaking with employees and local vendors selling their products at the facility, he encouraged avocado farmers to continue cultivating the crop, as it now has a reliable market.
He added that the situation has changed, asserting that avocado farming is a lucrative venture, and he has assured farmers that there are dependable investors ready to purchase their products that they produce from their farming system, he argued them to increase more effort so that they can able to raise their revenue to the next level .
