The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko, has urged Tanzanians to continue praying for the nation and for the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to effectively carry out her duties.
"Let us keep praying for the church, our country, and our President, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, who is truly doing a commendable job, as those of us working closely with her can attest," Dr. Biteko said .
He made these remarks today, February 16, 2025, while participating in a service at the Africa Inland Church in Chang’ombe, Dar es Salaam.
Dr. Biteko encouraged Tanzanians to maintain love and peace at all times, especially as the nation approaches the General Elections for the President, Members of Parliament, and Councilors, emphasizing that these elections should not divide the nation due to differing opinions.
He stressed, "God has blessed us with a peaceful country, and we must protect it with great vigilance, as the cost of losing peace is significant. We should also pray for neighboring countries facing challenges, as their problems can easily become our own, as seen with the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic."
Additionally, Dr. Biteko noted that the government is continuously improving various plans and policies to align with global needs, citing recent changes in the Education Policy as an example.
"We are developing a National Development Vision, for which we have traveled across the country to gather opinions from various groups to shape the Tanzania we desire in the next 25 years," Dr. Biteko elaborated.
During the service, Pastor Dr. Joseph Mayala Mitinje encouraged the congregation to remember the importance of prayer, indicating that the service was specifically dedicated to praying for the government and various needs.
"In order to serve God effectively, we have needs in every area, and this morning we are praying for our needs before the Lord," Pastor Mitinje said.
He has also continued to pray for the nation alongside various government leaders in fulfilling their responsibilities, while asking God to bless Tanzania and ensure it remains a country of peace, unity, and solidarity.
