Tanzania to develop methods to deal with aggressive and destructive wildlife

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr.Samia Suluhu Hassan , has announced that the government is actively developing various strategies to address the challenges posed by aggressive and destructive wildlife.

She has directed the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism to review the regulations concerning compensation for 'wildlife-related damages. '

This statement was made during her visit to the Lushoto District in Tanga Region on February 24, 2025, where she engaged with local residents.

President Samia emphasized the ongoing efforts to increase the number of wildlife officers and implement innovative methods for wildlife management, including the use of drones. 

The meeting was attended by several government and party officials, including the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Ambassador Dr. Pindi Chana, Deputy Minister Dunstan Kitandula, and the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, along with other officials from the ministry and its agencies. 

These new initiatives aim to enhance safety for both domestic and international tourists, thereby fostering opportunities for higher-quality tourism.
