The youth and leaders of the Umoja wa Vijana wa Chama Cha Mapinduzi (UVCCM), led by their Chairman Mohammed Kawaida and Secretary General Jokate Mwegelo, have expressed their commitment to ensuring the success of the presidential candidates endorsed by the CCM General Meeting in 2025, namely President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and Zanzibar President Dr. Hussein Mwinyi.
Kawaida made this statement following a charity walk in Dodoma, supporting the decisions made by delegates during the meeting held on January 18 and 19, 2025, which nominated Dr. Samia and Dr. Mwinyi.
Mwegelo added that the walk symbolizes their pledge to back the delegates' decisions, emphasizing that the party's future leadership lies in the hands of the youth, especially with the vice-presidential candidate for the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, being a product of UVCCM.
Over 1,000 young people, including university students and regional chairpersons, participated in the walk through various streets of Dodoma, aiming to promote a peaceful and joyful election atmosphere as a vital step towards a successful election this year.
Experts and other stakeholders also supported this event, viewing it as a significant tradition in preparing for the upcoming elections.
