TRA provides services in Njombe to expand economic opportunity and social services

Services aiming at increasing payer taxer in Njombe

The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) in Njombe has adapted by transforming a vehicle into an office to reach taxpayers in Ukalawa village, located 75.9 kilometers from Njombe town, aiming to provide services closer to their communities.

During this initiative, Tax Officer Prichard Richard Gellejah reported that they successfully registered over 200 new taxpayers, issuing them TIN and Control numbers.

He emphasized the importance of voluntary tax payment for national development, highlighting that local advancements in education, health, and electricity are direct results of tax contributions.

Gellejah noted that the team had to operate from the vehicle due to a lack of electricity and internet connectivity at the village office, creatively setting up services on a hill where staff members assisted taxpayers from the vehicle.

He expressed confidence that this outreach strategy would enhance tax collection in Njombe, crediting the efforts of Njombe Regional Manager , Specioza Owure for the initiative's success.
