The president of the Fire Fighters Association in Washington, D.C. shared insights with CNN regarding the challenges faced by divers as they navigate the wreckage.

He said that some divers have experienced cuts to their wetsuits due to debris, highlighting the ongoing efforts to recover the remaining bodies.

Boats were currently on-site to secure the area and conduct surface searches.

Reports show  that two data recorders from the aircraft have been retrieved and are now undergoing analysis, which may take some time but could yield important information about the crash.

A preliminary report is expected in 30 days, though this timeline may be difficult for families awaiting answers.

U.S. media has raised questions about possible causes, including a reported staffing shortage at Reagan Airport, but investigators stress that no definitive cause has been established and that all factors are still under review.

More details have emerged about some passengers on the American Airlines flight, including former Russian skating champions Yevgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, who were coaching in Boston after their successful careers, including a world championship win in 1994 and participation in the Winter Olympics.

They are survived by their 24-year-old son, Max, who has pursued a career in figure skating like his parents.

The Russian embassy in Washington has indicated that US officials have shown a willingness to assist in the repatriation of the deceased.

Inna Volyanskaya, a former Soviet Union figure skater, was also among the passengers on the flight, according to  Russian news agency Tass.

US President Donald Trump expressed "condolences " to the nation during a press briefing yesterday, acknowledging the collective grief and honoring both the victims of the air crash and the first responders during this tragic time.
