Bashungwa sworn in as the chairman of army commission

 The Acting Judge of the High Court of Tanzania, Edwin Kakolaki, has officially sworn in Innocent Bashungwa as the Chairman of the Police Force Commission, Prisons, Fire and Rescue, and the Department of Immigration on January 21, 2025, at the Integrated Justice Center in Dodoma.

 Additionally, Judge Kakolaki administered the oath to CP. Kombo Khamis Kombo, the Zanzibar Police Commissioner, and CP. Third Rashid Jumbe, the Commissioner for Administration and Human Resources Management in the Police Force, appointing them as members of the Commission. 

Following the ceremony, Judge Kakolaki urged the newly appointed Chairman and members to execute their responsibilities with professionalism and integrity, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal frameworks without bias or oppression.

 He encouraged them to fulfill their duties promptly to enhance the operational efficiency of the Security Agencies under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

 In response, Chairman Bashungwa assured President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and the citizens of Tanzania that the Commission would uphold the law impartially and make timely decisions to support the effective functioning of the Security Agencies. 

He committed to ensuring that all meetings are conducted within the prescribed timeframes to facilitate prompt decision-making.

The commission of the Police Force , Prisons ,Fire and Rescue and the Department of immigration has the authority to hire ,terminate , promote and confirm at work a soldier with a rank ranging from Assistant inspector to Assistant commissioner.
