An earthquake strikes in California

An earthquake struck California on Friday, January 10, coinciding with the state's ongoing battle against severe wildfires.

The 3.7 magnitude quake was recorded near the San Francisco Bay area at approximately 7:02 AM PT, with a depth of 8.4 kilometers, occurring three miles east of the San Francisco Zoo.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage or injuries related to the earthquake.

This seismic event took place roughly 350 miles from Los Angeles, where devastating wildfires have resulted in at least 10 fatalities and displaced 180,000 residents.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie addressed the situation, reaffirming his commitment to the safety of the city's residents and mobilizing city resources and first responders in response to the earthquake.

Meanwhile, wildfires in Los Angeles County have wreaked havoc, destroying around 10,000 homes and structures.
