The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Philip Mpango has said that Tanzania continues to hold consultations within the Government to see how it will be able to participate in the development of the Lobito Partnership based on national priorities, agreements between it and other countries as well as regional agreements.

The Vice President said this when he represented the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Meeting of Heads of State of Angola, the United States, Congo and Zambia regarding the Lobito Corridor, where Tanzania is an invited guest at the meeting held in the town of Lobito in Angola.
He said that Tanzania has experience in connecting other countries as it is already connecting the countries of Central Africa without seas with the countries of the Middle East, the Asian continent and the Far East. He added that the Tanzania -Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA ) railway and the Tanzania Zambia Mafuta (TAZAMA ) Oil Pipeline have strengthened cooperation, common prosperity since the 1970s.
The Vice President has said that through the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Communication, Transport and Climate, Tanzania has already joined neighboring countries and the largest area of the SADC region, thus strengthening the transportation of people, goods and opportunities various. He added that through the TAZARA railway it allows trains to travel from Tanzania to some SADC countries such as Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The Vice President has said that Tanzania is committed to developing regional cooperation and common prosperity. He has praised the progress made in the development of the Lobito Zone where he has said that through cooperation and innovation the Africa Agenda 2063 will be achieved.
The Lobito Strait involves the construction of a railway that will connect the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia to Angola with the aim of connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Republic of Angola Hon. João Lourenço , President of the United States Hon. Joe Biden, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Hon. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi and the President of Zambia Hon. Hakainde Hichilema.
The meeting aims to expand business opportunities, cooperation ,markets in various African countries, so Tanzania will be able to expand more markets that will bring many opportunities in the country.
