Tanzania aims to ensure that no one faces issues related to water access.

Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa visited Mwanza on December 21, 2024, to assess the ongoing Kisesa water storage tank project, a key initiative aimed at enhancing water services in the region with an estimated budget of 3.54 billion shillings.

 The project is funded by the Government of Tanzania and the French Development Agency, the project is currently 94 percent complete and is anticipated to benefit approximately 75,000 residents in Kisesa Bujora, Igudija, and surrounding areas. 

During his visit, Mr. Majaliwa commended the Sixth Phase Government under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for its commitment to significant projects that directly impact citizens in various sectors, including education, health, and infrastructure.

 Also , the Minister of Water Jumaa Aweso reiterated the government's dedication to ensuring access to water, reflecting President Samia's directive to alleviate water scarcity for the populace. 

Additionally, Nelly Msuya, Acting Executive Director of the Mwanza Water and Sanitation Authority, announced plans for constructing additional tanks in hilly areas around Mwanza Town, with a total investment of 49 billion shillings expected to be completed by December 2026.

 The Kisesa tank, with a capacity of 5 million liters, is projected to be finished by February 2025.
