More than 50 Tanzanians MPs who were traveling by bus from Dodoma to Kenya to participate in sports have had an accident in Mbande area in Dodoma region .
It has been stated that the Parliament bus , while at normal speed , met challenge of another car that had dropped loads on the road and when the driver was trying to avoid the luggage , the bus left the road and entered in the forest .
Witnesses of the accident were interviewed by journalists that among the injured MPs were Katenga member of Parliament, Jackson kiswege , Iringa member of Parliament , Jesca Msambatavanga and CHADEMA member of Parliament , Grace Tendega.
The witness said that the bus that had an accident was one of the Shabiby buses that was transporting them to the East African parliamentary competition, Mombasa Kenya, he said that the accident happened this morning after a bus allegedly hit the back of a lorry that was standing on the road from Morogoro to Dodoma .
" We thank God that our colleagues have survived , one of the four cars we were traveling in has had an accident and some of our colleagues have been injured and rushed to Benjamin Mkapa hospitals for treatment , we do not know how our colleagues are doing so far and we are still in the accident area ", said the MP .
The procession which was supposed to go through Chalinze and Tanga to Mombasa includes more than 120 members of Parliament and staff who were going to participate in various games that are expected to start tomorrow, December 7 to December 17 this year and involve teams from parliaments of seven countries including East African Parliament.
