The launch of the Twenzetu Kileleni season four took place on December 3, 2024, at the Lemosho Gate in Siha district, Kilimanjaro Region, attracting American tourists alongside 33 Tanzanians who are set to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in celebration of Tanganyika's 63rd independence anniversary on December 9, 2024.
Hon. Dr. Christopher David Timbuka, Head of Siha District, expressed his satisfaction with the increase in climbers from 11 in 2023 to 33 this year, highlighting the campaign's growing appeal beyond Tanzania's borders. He also acknowledged the African Scenic Company's role in promoting the Lemosho method for this event.
Senior Assistant Commissioner for Conservation, Northern Region, Betrita Lyimo, noted that the Twenzetu Kileleni campaign not only commemorates Tanganyika's independence but also significantly boosts tourism in the area. She emphasized the economic benefits for local residents, stemming from the purchases made by the visiting climbers.
Simbo Natai, Director of African Scenic, expressed gratitude to TANAPA for permitting the use of the Lemosho method for the independence celebration and committed to promoting this initiative internationally to attract more tourists to join the festivities in December.
Mr. John Pangilinan, an American citizen who took part in the ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, expressed that his enthusiasm and motivation for the climb stemmed from the numerous announcements of the "Twenzetu Kileleni" campaign he encountered on various social media platforms and the TANAPA website.
The "Twenzetu Kileleni" 2024 initiative, designed to encourage Tanzanians to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in celebration of the 63rd anniversary of Tanganyika's independence, embodies the ideals of patriotism, unity, and solidarity instilled in us by the nation's founders.
The compaign has set to attracts a lot of foreign visitors who will join the summit of mount Kilimanjaro to celebrate with Tanzanians for the purpose of promoting economy as well as tourism industries.
