The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has announced a forecast of heavy rainfall over the next two days, beginning today, november 30, affecting 11 regions across three areas.
The anticipated rainfall will impact the Southern highlands, including Mbeta, Songwe, Iringa, Njombe, and Rukwa, as well as the Southern Coast along the Indian Ocean, specifically Lindi and Mtwara, and the central region, which encompasses Dodoma and Singida, along with the Southern Region, including Ruvuma and Morogoro.
In a statement released on friday, november 29, 2024, TMA indicated that adverse weather conditions are expected to persist for five days, from november 30 to december 3, 2024.
The warning highlights the potential for heavy rain in select areas of the Southern highlands, the Southern Coastal Zone, and the Central and Southern regions.
Additionally, on december 3, rain is forecasted for parts of the highlands and the South West regions, including Mbeya, Iringa, Njombe, Rukwa, and Songwe, as well as the North Coast Zone of the Indian Ocean.
This forecast follows a previous warning issued six days ago regarding heavy rain in four regions, including the highlands in the Northeast, specifically Arusha, Manyara, and Kilimanjaro, with additional rainfall expected in central regions like Dodoma and Singida, and western areas such as Kigoma and Tabora.
