The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Philip Mpango has met and held talks with the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Dr. Akinwumi Adesina. The talks have been held on the sidelines of the 29th meeting of the Member States of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP-29) held in the city of Baku in Azerbaijan.
The talks aimed to further strengthen the existing cooperation between Tanzania and the Bank with the aim of improving infrastructure, especially railway infrastructure, projects to stimulate employment for young people as well as projects to control and deal with climate change.
The conversation was attended by the Minister of Finance Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, Minister of State Office of the Vice President (Union and Environment) Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Cosato Chumi, Secretary General Office of the Vice President (Union and Environment) Engineer Cyprian Luhemeja, Permanent representative of Tanzania to the United Nations (New York) Hon. Ambassador Hussein Katanga with the President's advisor on climate change Dr. Richard Muyungi.
The cooperation is mainly aimed at dealing with the issue of climate change affecting the people at the moment as well as various disasters that affect human activities and health.
