"The government is continuing its efforts to make large investments in the climate sector in the country where by the end of this year , Tanzania will have seven radars which is a large amount of radar in the country, east and central Africa ", Dr Majaliwa.
He has said that the development is a continuation of the Government's investment in the weather sector in the country by installing modern weather, infrastructure to strengthen weather and information monitoring systems.
He said this , when he made a statement to celebrate the International Day for Disaster Reduction, in Mwanza.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, for large investments in this area but also to continue to give priority to special groups and to set solid strategies aimed at empowering young people economically and socially. ”, Dr Majaliwa.
He has said that this year's celebrations provide an opportunity to strengthen national and international cooperation to unite efforts to protect children and young people from the effects of disasters.
“In order to achieve that goal, at the national level we should, among other things, we should ensure that we use this opportunity to train the community about strategies to protect themselves from disasters, especially climate education and how to deal with climate change; organize meetings to discuss disaster, challenges and to strengthen strategies.
He added that the relevant authorities should conduct awareness campaigns about the importance of education and dangerous communication, as well as community participation, organize cultural and sports events to mobilize the community and provide education through entertainment, develop research on the effects of disasters as well as provide information to the public to increase awareness.
Tanzania is seeking to develop and strengthen all sectors in the country including , economy , empowering young people, education and health services in the country.
