Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has asked council employees in the country to continue to set strategies to involve the private sector in development plans.
He has said that by doing so it will help increase the scope of service delivery to citizens and the production of products including those in the livestock sector.
He said this when he spoke to the public servants of the Kigamboni Municipal Council, in the city of Dar es Salaam at the hall of the Citizen Development College. The Prime Minister is in Dar es Salaam region for a two-day business visit.
“Our policy within the Government encourages the private sector to invest and provide services, in your department you must ask yourself how much the private sector has contributed in providing services”.he said .
In addition, Mr. Majaliwa has asked councilors in all councils in the country to participate in making estimates of collections in their councils in collaboration with Council, Ward and Village executives.
“The Council of Councilors do a Survey to find out all the sources and find out how much they contribute, go and learn Temeke how they did , how they increased the collections from 8 million per week to 120 million”.he said .
He added that private sector has a lot of benefit in development because they help in delivering social services to the citizen at right time .
