We should eliminate limitation of health services in East Africa , Prime minister say

Dr Kassim Majaliwa has said that health service providers of member countries in the East African region to remove obstacles that prevent patients seeking treatment within the East African region.

"This step is for the benefit of our citizens and for the regional economy and the growth of tourism therapy."he said .

He made the statement today (Friday August 30, 2024) when he was an official guest at the 12th Meeting of the Federation of East African Health Service Providers held at the Julius Njerere International Conference Center (JNICC). Dar es Salaam.

He said that member countries, including Tanzania, have tried to invest in the health sector and reduce the costs of sending patients outside the region for treatment. 

"Currently, very few patients travel outside our countries for treatment, as almost all serious diseases can now be treated within East Africa.", he said .

In another step, Mr. Majaliwa has called on investors in the Health Sector to invest in Tanzania because the Government has developed friendly investment policies especially in the health Sector due to the need for these services in the country.

"We welcome all investors who are interested in investing in the health sector, the good policies we have, the good laws and regulations we have, the demand for investment in the health sector is great and we want to get new technology and specialist services."he said.

He also insisted that Tanzania has good policies for all investors from different part of the world that meet the demand and services for investors in the country .
